What is fullerene. The ingredient with 172x the antioxidant power of Vitamin C.
What is fullerene
Fullerene is a molecule of 60 carbon atoms bonded into a spherical shape. Discovered in 1985, it was approved as a cosmetic ingredient in 2002. Its soccer ball-like structure gives rise to its distinctive function.
Its defining characteristic is overwhelming antioxidant capacity — reported at 172 times that of Vitamin C — making it exceptionally efficient at eliminating the reactive oxygen species that initiate aging.
How it differs from ordinary antioxidants
Common antioxidants like Vitamin C work on a one-to-one basis: one molecule eliminates one reactive oxygen species, then it is consumed. A disposable action.
Fullerene is fundamentally different. A single fullerene molecule continues eliminating reactive oxygen species for over 20 hours. Regenerative, continuous antioxidant action. This is the root distinction.
Fullerene also has a synergistic effect with Vitamin C. While fullerene powerfully eliminates ROS, Vitamin C promotes collagen synthesis. Combining both simultaneously means elimination and regeneration work at the same time.
Why concentration matters
Most fullerene-containing products on the market include only trace amounts — the minimum needed to display the ingredient on the label. Even 0.001% qualifies as "contains fullerene." But at those amounts, real results cannot be expected.
Our product contains 10%. This is the highest concentration confirmed in the industry. Because fullerene is a hydrophobic molecule insoluble in water, stable formulation at high concentration requires specialized technology. We chose that difficulty. Because anything below an effective concentration is meaningless.
Who needs it
Especially effective for people with regular UV exposure (frequent outings, sports), those with dullness or uneven skin tone, and those who feel oxidative damage has accumulated.
Combined with glycation care, it simultaneously addresses the two major pathways of aging: oxidation and glycation.
